Lacey Richmond
About
Lacey Richmond practices exclusively family law and has dedicated her entire legal career to helping families navigate some of the most personal and challenging moments of their lives. She handles a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, child custody and visitation, child support, enforcement and modification actions, adoption, and termination cases. While Lacey primarily represents clients in Brazoria, Galveston, and Harris Counties.
Born and raised in Brazoria County, Lacey has roots in the communities she serves. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies and her Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston–Clear Lake before attending South Texas College of Law Houston. In law school, she intentionally focused her coursework on areas that directly impact family law clients, including Family Law, Marital Property, Alternative Dispute Resolution (Mediation), Family Law Trial Advocacy, and Wills, Trusts, and Estates.
Before becoming an attorney, Lacey spent four years working as a family law paralegal and continued in that role while attending law school. After obtaining her law license in 2014, she immediately began practicing as a family law attorney and has practiced exclusively in this area ever since. This background allows her to understand both the legal and practical sides of a family law case and to guide clients through the process with clarity and efficiency.
Lacey is also a divorcee and co-parented her (now-adult) daughter with her former spouse and his wife. This personal experience gives her a unique perspective and genuine empathy for clients facing custody and co-parenting issues. She understands the emotional realities behind court orders and offers practical guidance aimed at promoting healthy communication and long-term co-parenting success.
Lacey recognizes that the legal system can feel overwhelming, intimidating, and frustrating, especially when family and children are involved. Her approach is centered on making the process as smooth and manageable as possible. She prioritizes listening to her clients, ensuring they feel informed and supported, and helping them understand their options so they can make decisions that are right for their families.
Clients often describe Lacey as down-to-earth, approachable, and easy to communicate with. She is straightforward, avoids unnecessary litigation, and focuses on resolving cases efficiently and cost-effectively while still advocating strongly for her clients’ interests.
Outside of the office, Lacey enjoys spending time with her daughter and their eight dogs. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities, traveling, watching sporting events, and volunteering with nonprofit organizations focused on animal welfare.
